PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Classic 3 is the best-selling UV cleaner from Steripen. Its low weight and small size make it the ideal purifier for outdoor activities where every gram counts.
UV purification method makes it possible to remove 99.9% of harmful bacteria and microorganisms from water. It reliably kills viruses, bacteria, giardia and cryptosporidia by breaking down their DNA/RNA. The effectiveness can be further increased by using the optional 40-micron pre-filter, which can treat even slightly cloudy water.
Purification of 1 litre of water takes about 1.5 minutes with a maximum lifetime of 4000 litres. Only visually clear water is suitable for cleaning.
When transporting, it is important to remember that this is an electric device which requires gentler handling than manual filters. The unit is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). The number of uses depends on the type of battery used. In the case of alkaline batteries, it is 25 uses, lithium 150 uses and NiMH 100 uses per charge.
