Sawyer S3 Foam Filter

The Sawyer S3 Foam Filter allows you to drink clean water in any situation. The Foam Filter will remove almost all impurities found in fresh water, while also improving its taste and smell. Sawyer systems combine a patented foam membrane in a durable 0.6 litre capacity silicone bottle with a hollow fibre filter.

Attached to the bottle is the Sawyer Micro Squeeze filter. The PointONE technology used by this filter has an absolute pore size of 0.1 micron. As a result, it filters out 99.99999% of all harmful bacteria such as salmonella, cholera, E. coli, etc.

We recommend filling and drying the bottle only through the smaller opening to which the Sawyer filter attaches. In the event that you remove the reducing cap, it must be resealed before you can use the bottle again. If you do not do this, unfiltered water may leak and contaminate your drinking water!

The S3 Filter System will rid your water of bacteria, protozoa, cysts, chemicals and pesticides. It filters out up to 99.9% of viruses and reduces heavy metals such as arsenic, copper and mercury. This model even meets the very stringent requirements of the U.S. Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The filter has a service life of 400 uses. Its only potential weakness is its frost sensitivity. If the filter is wet and freezes, the filter membranes can be damaged and filtration becomes ineffective.

The bottle is 25 cm long and its diameter is 6.5 cm. The filter has a diameter of 3.5 cm and its size is 11 cm.
