This is a classic PCP air rifle in 5.5mm calibre which, as the name suggests, hides incredible speed. The Speed rifle is powered by electronics, and therefore this model bears the designation Semi Auto. If you don’t enjoy cocking the rifle before every shot, then Evanix Speed is the right choice for you. The stock is made of walnut wood in a Thumbhole design. The well‑fitting pistol grip is complemented by a smoothly finished cheekpiece, all completed by a sliding adjustable rubber butt pad.
As already mentioned, the Speed is powered by electronics, and therefore the battery is housed in the cheekpiece. The air cylinder has a volume of 290cc with a maximum working pressure of 200 Bar. Air is supplied via the classic Evanix QuickFill pin. The barrel is shrouded, which makes the rifle quieter, but you can still buy a sound moderator and screw it onto the 1/2" thread. The main part of the rifle, or the action, is not treated with standard bluing, but with a special finish that reduces unwanted scratches.
A red switch on the side indicates whether the rifle is currently ready to fire or is in the off mode. The other side is equipped with a manual safety against accidental discharge. The Speed model uses new magazines that Evanix developed specifically for the Semi/full auto models. The 10‑shot magazine can be inserted from both the right and left side. A 22mm RIS rail is also an integral part of this model, so you can – or rather must – fit the rifle with a riflescope. The Speed is not equipped with traditional open sights.
Practical experience: Shooting without any reloading is really pleasant and very fast. This rifle simply captivated us. A major advantage is also the option to purchase a double magazine, where the shot capacity is truly sufficient.
