An elegant laminate version of the air rifle Caiman from the proven Czech manufacturer AirMaks Arms.
The Version X has an extended barrel to 520mm, making it much more accurate than the standard version. At its end there is a sound moderator consisting of 3 segments. For mounting an additional sound moderator, the last segment is equipped with a standard 1/2UNFx20 thread.
The air cylinder has also gained volume – it now holds 285cc. When you combine this with a working pressure of 300 bar, you get a respectable number of shots per fill. The remaining pressure is shown by a recessed manometer on the left side of the forearm.
A pressure regulator helps to maintain a consistent velocity of the pellets by letting through only a pre‑set amount of air, which eliminates the drop in power as the pressure in the cylinder decreases.
Despite the extended barrel, the Caiman still retains compact dimensions thanks to its bullpup design, with an overall length of 695mm.
The cocking lever is located on the left side, but if necessary you can move it to the other side. As is typical for air rifles from AirMaks, the cocking mechanism here also has a surprisingly smooth and fluid operation.
The manual safety is not designed as a rotary switch like on most air rifles, but as a brass pin that must be pushed in from the right side to disengage it. Note that the manufacturer strongly advises against cocking the air rifle with the safety engaged – this could cause irreversible damage to the internal mechanism.
For mounting a riflescope there is a 22mm rail with a 20 MOA incline, making it easier to set up the scope for long‑range shooting. At the end of the stock there is a comfortable height‑adjustable rubber butt pad. For optional bipod installation, a UIT rail is located on the underside of the forearm.
