The Umarex T4E TP50 Compact Gen2 pistol provides effective self-defense capabilities in a truly portable package.
Similar to all other 2nd generation models in the T4E series, this piece has also received a new quick activation valve that requires no tools to be tightened or loosened. The second innovation is a roughened grip texture for a more reliable handling.
You can use all kinds of .50 cal RAM balls as ammunition, such as rubber, pepper or marking rounds. The magazine is located under the barrel, where you need to lift off the front of the trigger guard. The magazine has a capacity of 4 rounds.
The pistol is powered by a single 8g CO2 cartridge that is inserted into the grip. That way, you can carry the pistol indefinitely without the risk of the sealing rings degrading. To activate it, simply hit the valve with your hand which pierces the cartridge and the pistol is ready to fire.
The TP 50 Compact is available in two power versions - 11 Joules, where a single cartridge delivers 8 full-power shots, and 7.5 J where it delivers 12 shots.
Due to the pistol being designed for short-range self-defense purposes and also its small dimensions, it does not include any mounting systems for attaching an optical sight or other accessories.
Maintenance
Since the gun is powered by CO2 cartridges, the sealing rings can become brittle and crack when exposed to the freezing carbon dioxide over time. This can be prevented by occasional application of silicone oil 1) by a spray bottle, where you simply coat the internal mechanism, 2) by applying a few drops of silicone oil to the nozzle of the inserted cartridge. It’s also not recommended to leave the activated cartridge in the gun for longer than necessary. If you know you won't be shooting for a while, release the pressure by loosening the valve.
