An air rifle can be utilized in multiple ways and one of them is pest control. You will be able to hit your target with every shot if you choose the right airgun. You should always look for the most powerful models but finding the right one to fit your preferences might prove difficult. We offer a wide range of high-end models from well-known manufacturers like Airgun, Technology, FX Airguns, Edgun, Kalibrgun or Taipan. You can’t go wrong with these manufacturers.
CO2 powered airguns aren’t usually used for hunting because carbon dioxide is dependent on outside temperature and you won’t be able to shoot in colder weather. That is of course not ideal for hunting. Air rifles with spring and gas pistons are more suitable for this task but you are only going to get a one shot so better make it count. PCP air rifles are definitely the best option for pest control because they usually come with a magazine and offer the most power. Larger calibers will have better results. A .177 caliber (4,5 mm) might be great for target shooting but larger calibers like .22 (5,5 mm) or .25 (6,35 mm) are more effective for hunting.
Choosing the right type of ammunition is almost as crucial as having the right air rifle. Czech manufacturer JSB offers a number of pellets just for this task – The JSB Polymag pellets with polymer tips or the Hades pellets with hollowed out tips are just to name a few. You are also going to have to own a quality scope. Trust us, it will be worth it in the long run.
