PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Having the Swedish company FX Airguns once again coming up with a high-performance and super-accurate PCP air rifle is not much of a miracle. Their airguns are already famous all over the world. This time, however, they've created something truly remarkable - an air rifle with a cartridge wrapped around the barrel.

At first sight, the FX DRS series airguns appear more like real sniper rifles. This is also contributed by the retrofitted SHP power plenum sticking out from the bottom side, making it resemble a magazine. The actual magazine, though, inserts as usual into the slot in the middle of the standard 11mm "dovetail" scope rail and can accommodate projectiles up to 11.3mm (0.45") long.

Vzduchovka FX DRS Classic 700mm Walnut text

Superior Heavy Smooth Twist X barrel liner - As is typical with FX Airguns, the barrel rifling is pressed from the outside. This results in an exceptionally smooth internal surface, minimizing the friction when shot. The cartridge routed around the barrel also serves as a shroud that reinforces the entire air rifle and reduces oscillations during firing. The outer diameter of the shroud is 34mm. The barrel muzzle is equipped with a standard 1/2UNF thread for the eventual installation of a sound moderator.

To achieve the streamlined design of the entire airgun, the adjustment components of the AMP MkII regulator and the hammer spring have been relocated beneath the stock, which needs to be disassembled first in case you want to adjust anything. However, the air rifle is factory tuned to offer the best balance between performance, accuracy and air consumption when used with the majority of commonly available ammunition straight out of the box.

This model features a finely shaped walnut stock from the highly regarded Italian manufacturer Minelli with a fixed cheek piece and a fixed buttpad made of soft rubber. The cocking lever is fixed on the right side, as well as the lever-type manual safety. On the left side of the stock, there is a pressure gauge displaying the current pressure in the cartridge, and the fully adjustable trigger with variable blade positioning is also a matter of course.

NOTE: The muzzle energy and muzzle velocity values were achieved with the airgun adjusted to maximum power and under ideal conditions. Actual values may vary.

NOTE: With this air rifle, it is important to pay attention to the remaining pressure in the cartridge. We recommend maintaining a pressure of (approximately) at least 150 bar. If the pressure drops below the regulator settings, it may result in the air rifle depressurizing entirely.

Quality workmanship, strength, and precision. It is quite noisy. If you are filling with a compressor, let a little air from a tank into the cartridge to have a non-zero „working“ pressure, otherwise the compressor will not fill it.

  • Beautiful craftsmanship
  • Strength
  • Precision
  • Noisy - in the yard where you have neighbors around, I do not recommend it. Better take it to the shooting range...

Beautiful and powerful weapon, I recommend to use slug type cartridges of at least 34gr. The regulator is factory set at 150 Bar and when shooting the JSB Slug 25gr the velocity was over 1060 fps. but the gun still „popped“ (the valve would close after the round left the barrel). Using 34gr ammo helped a bit, but I ended up having to increase the pressure on the regulator to 170 Bar (it closes the valve faster then) and then fine tuned the firing pin spring so the gun didn't „pop“ and found the ideal sweetspot for 34gr H&N slugs at about 985fps. In my opinion, a gun this powerful cannot be used with pellets (pellets) which are unstable at these velocities. For final tuning I used a heavier hammer and a stronger spring (or various combinations depending on the regulated pressure). The key to the tuning is that the spring should NOT be permanently compressed (for higher pressures Above 160 Bar and standard hammer), but that it should not be completely relaxed again – in both cases the consistency is not ideal.

  • simple and beautiful weapon
  • very strong
  • its simplicity is also its weakness if you want to tune it
  • the pressure on the regulator and the force of the striker cannot be easily adjusted
