Czech company AirMaks Arms is becoming better known on the airgun market day by day thanks to its continuously expanding range of premium high‑performance airguns with a distinctive design.
This time they present another addition to the family of compact bullpups called Krait X Tube 5.5mm. The designation “Tube” means that instead of a standard rounded kevlar air cylinder, the rifle is equipped with an elongated 500cc cylindrical air cylinder with a working pressure of up to 300 bar.
All other parts of the air rifle remain unchanged, such as the fully shrouded barrel with a rifling twist rate of 1/17 and a classic 1/2x20 UNF thread at the muzzle for installing a sound moderator.
The Krait is equipped with two pressure gauges that show the pressure in the air cylinder and in the externally adjustable pressure regulator. The icing on the cake is the Power Plenum with a capacity of 60cc.
Precision shooting is ensured by a fully adjustable two‑stage trigger, and right above it there is a manual safety that can easily be moved to the other side, just like the sidelever with an extremely smooth operation.
A total of 4 Picatinny rails are available for mounting accessories. The rail for mounting a riflescope is inclined by 20 MOA for easier scope adjustment for long‑range shooting.
Comfortable shooting is provided by a solid metal stock with a height‑adjustable cheekpiece and a rubber buttpad that is adjustable in both height and length. Naturally, there is also a standardised rubberised AR‑15 type grip designed for right‑handed shooters, which can easily be replaced with another one.
