The most important component of every riflescope is of course the optical system, and the manufacturer Vector Optics knows this very well. That is why the Continental x8 1-8x24 SFP Hunting MOA model offers a truly top-class system of LaREE and VePRO lenses with FMC coating, which transmits up to an impressive 93% of light. Thanks to this, the riflescope is suitable for use even in low-light conditions.
This model is equipped with a VEC-FDR (Fiber Dot Reticle) reticle in the second focal plane (the reticle does not increase in size with magnification) with a total of 11 illumination levels, powered by a CR2032 battery (not included).
Elevation and windage adjustment is done within a range of 40 MIL, where 1 click = 1/10 MIL. The open Turret Lock adjustment turrets firmly hold the set value once clicked into place. Parallax correction is fixed at 100 yards (91.44 m). Turning the adjustment turrets is accompanied by a quiet click, which allows you to adjust the riflescope more easily without taking your eyes off the target.
All components are protected by a robust housing with IP67 rating made of aircraft-grade aluminium 6061 T6, thanks to which the riflescope can withstand recoil of 750G. The one-piece forged tube has a standard diameter of 30 mm, and to prevent the lenses from fogging due to sudden temperature changes, the riflescope is filled with nitrogen.
This model is capable of withstanding 750 g (unit of gravitational acceleration), which is equivalent to the recoil of firearms chambered in .223 and .308.
