PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Vector Optics Tauron 5-50x60 ED SFP riflescope offers variable magnification of 5-50x, a large 60 mm objective lens and Japanese ED glass with a Fully Multi-Coated (FMC) finish for high light transmission. The VCO-5 MIL reticle is in the second focal plane (SFP) with fine 0.05 MIL clicks, red illumination, and a robust 34 mm tube made of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with IP67 protection and 1000 G shock resistance.

Optical system

The riflescope works with variable magnification 5-50x, which allows use from medium up to very long distances, and is equipped with a large 60 mm objective lens for maximum light gathering. The optical system uses Japanese ED glass combined with lenses featuring a Fully Multi-Coated finish, which increases image contrast and sharpness and achieves up to 92% light transmission. Thanks to this, the riflescope provides a bright and true-to-colour image even at higher magnifications. The 95 mm eye relief ensures comfortable aiming and sufficient distance of the eye from the eyepiece.

Reticle

The riflescope uses the VCO-5 MIL reticle designed in milliradians (MIL / MRAD) and placed in the second focal plane (SFP), so its size remains the same across the entire magnification range. The centre consists of a floating illuminated 0.05 MIL dot, which makes precise aiming at small targets easier. The red illumination of the reticle is adjustable in 6 intensity levels with On/Off intermediate positions and is powered by a CR2032 battery (not included).

Mechanical features

The turrets work in milliradians with a fine 0.05 MIL click, which allows very precise zeroing and corrections. The elevation turret is equipped with a Zero Stop function – a mechanical stop for a quick return of the elevation adjustment to a pre-set zero value – and also a revolution indicator to keep track of the number of turns. Both turrets feature Turret Lock – the option to lock the turret to prevent unintended changes of the settings during handling or transport. Parallax is smoothly adjustable in the range from 10 m to infinity, and the eyepiece offers dioptre adjustment in the range of +2D to -3D.

Construction and durability

The riflescope body is made from a one-piece 34 mm tube of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with a matte black finish. The interior is nitrogen-filled to prevent internal lens fogging with temperature and humidity changes. The riflescope meets the waterproof IP67 standard, so it is protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. The 1000 G resistance means that the construction is designed for recoil equivalent to .300, .308 and .338 calibres, ensuring reliable performance even on powerful rifles.
