Since this is a PCP air rifle powered by compressed air, it is necessary to purchase a scuba tank or a hand pump for its operation. At first glance, you will be impressed by the quality beech stock, which is equipped with an adjustable universal cheek piece. At the end of the stock there is a rubber anti‑vibration butt pad, which serves to increase shooting comfort.
If you want to stabilize the rifle with a bipod while shooting, there is no need to drill a mount into the stock. On the underside of the stock you will find a ring for attaching a bipod. A big advantage is also the second swivel, which is located at the end of the stock under the cheek piece and serves, for example, for attaching a sling.
Unlike the spring‑piston air rifles from this brand, the ORION model is equipped with a metal trigger guard and trigger. The safety is located in front of the trigger and is therefore easy to operate. On the underside of the stock you will also find a pressure gauge, which always shows the current pressure in the air cylinder. The air cylinder holds 225cc of air and thanks to this you can make up to 100 shots on a single fill. Filling via a quickfill adapter, which is always included in the package, is a matter of course. To fill it, simply slide it onto the cylinder’s fill port.
The barrel of this air rifle is forged, has the standard twelve grooves and is fitted with a 1/2 UNF thread. Users will also certainly appreciate that the rifle is equipped with a sound moderator, which makes the shot quieter. Each air rifle is equipped with a repeating magazine, which allows you to shoot faster and not have to insert a pellet before every shot. The rifle is cocked by a classic rear bolt with a ball handle.
Cometa Orion is not equipped with open sights, therefore we recommend purchasing a quality riflescope for shooting at distances up to 50 metres. An 11mm dovetail rail mounted on the rifle is provided for scope attachment.
The overall length of the rifle with moderator is 1060mm (910mm without moderator).
