The word “more traditional” does not mean “outdated”. The Wildcat CRX crossbow is full of modern technologies and materials, making it one of the most advanced recurve crossbows in our range, and at a very reasonable price.
To cock the string you need to apply a force equivalent to 195 lbs (88 kg), which requires the use of the supplied cocking device. The result is an arrow speed of up to 280 fps (85 m/s) with a 380-grain (24.6-gram) arrow.
The patented Rope-Hold™ technology uses a movable protrusion in the slot of the rope cocker that safely holds the cord inside while you attach the cocker hooks to the string.
The metal trigger is equipped with an Anti-Dry Fire (ADF) system, which prevents the trigger from being pulled when no arrow is loaded in the crossbow. A dry fire can permanently damage the limbs or the string of the crossbow.
Other useful features include a clearly defined integrated foregrip in the forend with side finger guards, an anti-vibration stirrup, a Soft-Lok™ bristle arrow retainer, and a total of 3 Picatinny rails for mounting accessories.
Every crossbow needs some sort of sight, and in this case the manufacturer certainly did not skimp. The package includes a premium Barnett three-dot red dot sight that makes aiming at different distances easier, allowing you to adjust both the brightness level and the colour of the illumination – red or green.
Also included in the package are a neoprene cover for the red dot sight, a hook-style rope cocker, two carbon arrows Barnett HeadHunter 20", a lightweight three-slot arrow quiver, and string wax.
