Videoreport: ShotShow 2025
We arrived in Las Vegas a day early and while the vendors were still setting up their booths, we had time to scout out the Venetian Hotel and Casino where this year's ShotShow was held. Naturally, there was no shortage of indoor spaces styled like the streets of Venice, Italy.
We also shortened our wait by visiting the Bass Pro Shop, one of the largest outdoor gear retailers in America. And the store is truly a paradise for any hunter, marksman, fisherman or outdoor enthusiast. In addition to a huge assortment of products, you'll even find an idoor shooting range. We didn't overlook the airgun section, but since Bass Pro also sells firearms, their offer was rather limited.
During the first day of the expo we visited the stand of the American manufacturer Barnett, where we immediately took a liking to the Demun Storm compound crossbow. Apart from its compact size, it impressed us with its easy break-action mechanism and simple foldability. We hope to see these crossbows in our e-shop sometime this summer. But it was also a delight to see the whole range of firearms that are the main appeal of the show.
You won't find the American brand Macavity Arms in our e-shop yet, but that may change soon, because the very next day we were thoroughly impressed by the powerful PCP air rifle MA8. Besides the high power (the manufacturer claims 180 J), the gun also has an electronic trigger and a massive 680cc air tank.
Next, we explored the booth from Takumitak, a company that focuses on producing quality fixed blades at a reasonable price. Among their key new products are knives with a damascus pattern and a grip that glows in the dark. Unfortunately, the blades aren't genuine damascus steel, but they are still made of high quality and durable 3cr13 steel.
Last but not least, we visited the renowned manufacturer SPA, where we were introduced to the new AP900 PCP air rifle, which is as light as a feather at just 1.6 kg. We expect it to be a very affordable air rifle and we hope to see it on our shelves sometime in the second half of the year.
The last day of the expo took us to the booth of our long-term partner Reximex, which updated and lightened (both in weight and price) several of its popular models such as the Meta, Tormenta or Nyx. But also worth mentioning is the brand new proto-type PCP Winchester rifle with its rather unconventional air tank placement.
We are looking forward to bringing you more video content at this year's IWA Outdoor Classics!
