Caiman is a brand-new PCP air rifle in calibre 5.5 mm from the Czech manufacturer AirMaks. Its main advantages include accuracy, compact dimensions, and uncompromising build quality.
At first glance, you will notice its unusually shaped laminate stock, which gives it a distinctive look. Mounting the rifle to the shoulder is very comfortable, and the ergonomically shaped pistol grip fits your hand perfectly. Shooting comfort is further enhanced by the height-adjustable rubber butt pad.
The Czech-made barrel is 400 mm long and thanks to the Bullpup design, the overall length of the air rifle is only 575 mm. The integrated sound moderator, which makes shooting really quiet, should also not be overlooked.
The cocking lever is unusually positioned on the left side, but if necessary you can easily move it to the right side. The swap takes only a few moments. The magazine holds a total of 10 pellets in calibre 5.5 mm and you will find two magazines in the package. The somewhat unconventional safety is located at the end of the stock and to disengage it you simply press it from the right side of the rifle’s body.
The air cylinder has a capacity of 190 cc and the maximum filling pressure is 300 bar. A manometer on the left side of the fore-end is used to check the current pressure in the cylinder. On the other side you will find the filling port. The Caiman is supplied with a Quick-Fill adapter, filling hose and a degassing tool.
This model is not equipped with open sights, but instead features a standard Weaver rail for mounting a riflescope. The UIT rail on the fore-end allows the attachment of a bipod.
As a bonus, the AirMaks Caiman is shipped in a padded textile case.
