Caiman is a brand-new PCP air rifle in .22 caliber (5.5 mm) from the Czech manufacturer AirMaks. Its main advantages include accuracy, compact dimensions, and uncompromising build quality.
The first thing that will catch your eye is the unusually shaped laminate stock, which gives the rifle a distinctive look. Shouldering is very comfortable and the ergonomically shaped pistol grip fits your hand perfectly. Shooting comfort is further enhanced by the height-adjustable rubber buttpad.
The Czech-made barrel is 400 mm long and thanks to the Bullpup design the overall length of the rifle is only 575 mm. The integrated sound moderator, which makes shooting really quiet, also deserves mention.
The cocking lever is unusually placed on the left side, but if needed you can easily move it to the right side. The change only takes a few moments. The magazine holds a total of 10 pellets in 5.5 mm caliber, and you will find two of them in the package. The somewhat unconventional safety is located at the end of the stock and can be disengaged simply by pushing it from the right side of the rifle’s body.
The air cylinder has a capacity of 190 cc and the maximum filling pressure is 300 bar. A pressure gauge on the left side of the fore-end is used to check the current pressure in the cylinder. On the opposite side you will find the filling port. The Caiman is supplied with a Quick-Fill adapter, filling hose, and a degassing tool.
This model is not equipped with iron sights, but instead features a standard Weaver rail for mounting a riflescope. The UIT rail on the fore-end allows you to attach a bipod.
As a bonus, the AirMaks Caiman is delivered in a padded textile case.
