Air rifle AirMaks Krait MK2 L 5.5mm

AirMaks Krait MK2 is a new generation of the popular Czech air rifle in a compact bullpup configuration. Compared to the original series, it brings a redesigned PCP system with an externally adjustable Huma-Air regulator and an Anti-Bounce Hammer system. At the same time, it retains what worked best on the Krait model – a compact and rigid bullpup design, modular construction, and excellent ergonomics.

Variants of the Krait MK2 model

• S - Standard: choked barrel with a length of 400 mm, carbon bottle with a capacity of 300 cc.
• L - Long: choked barrel with a length of 520 mm, carbon bottle with a capacity of 580 cc.
• X - Extra: the longest version with a barrel length of 700 mm and a carbon bottle with a capacity of 700 cc.

• HP - High-Power: high-power version with a non-choked barrel designed for slugs

PCP system

The air system of the Krait MK2 model uses a carbon bottle with a working pressure of up to 300 bar.

On the left side of the action there is an externally adjustable Huma-Air regulator (the adjustment key is not included). Next to the regulator, two pressure gauges are recessed into the body – one monitors the pressure in the bottle, the other the pressure behind the regulator. The preload of the hammer spring can be adjusted at the rear of the stock by the buttpad.

Filling is done via a quick-coupler adapter, so a separate filling probe is not needed. The adapter is also protected by a dust cover.

Another element of the new generation is the Anti-Bounce Hammer system, which reduces undesirable hammer bounce after the shot and thus helps to reduce air losses.

Barrel and controls

The barrel is housed in a robust metal shroud that protects it and also contains an integrated sound moderator. At the muzzle there is a 1/2x20 UNF thread with an aluminium cap for mounting an external moderator.

The magazine is inserted from the right side and has a magnetic lid that makes handling easier when loading. The side-lever with a large textured handle is located on the left side and can be swapped to the other side. The manual safety in AR15 style is also reversible, so the shooter can adjust the controls to their preference. A light, two-stage adjustable trigger is a matter of course.

Construction, ergonomics and accessory mounting

The air rifle body is made of anodised aluminium alloy, which contributes to the rigidity of the whole construction and to precise fit of all parts. The rubber cheekpiece is adjustable in height and length, as is the buttpad.

It comes with an ergonomic AR15 grip FAB Defense Gradus with a rubberised surface and a reduced grip angle. Thanks to the AR15 standard, it can be replaced with another compatible grip.

For mounting optics there is a top Picatinny rail with 20 MOA incline. Additional accessories can be attached to the short side Picatinny rails and the short bottom Picatinny rail. There is also a QD slot at the rear of the stock for attaching a sling.

The air rifle is supplied in a plastic case with foam inlay. However, it will not fit into the original case with a riflescope mounted, so for transporting a fully equipped rifle we recommend purchasing a larger case.
