The German manufacturer Weihrauch started production back in 1899 and ranks among the absolute top in its field. Their air rifles are used in sporting disciplines such as Field Target and others. With these spring-piston rifles you can achieve the same results at a distance of 50 metres as with much more expensive PCP models.
Weihrauch HW 97 is the flagship model of this manufacturer. The fixed barrel with underlever cocking ensures long-lasting accuracy. After breaking the underlever, the loading port opens to insert the pellet into the barrel. The safety is automatic, so it must be disengaged before every shot. It is located at the rear of the action. The stock is ambidextrous, so it is suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. The Black Line model, as the name suggests, is fitted with a black polymer stock. The stock is in thumbhole design and provides a very good grip. At the end of the stock there is a rubber butt pad that absorbs recoil.
The top variant is supplied without open sights, so it is necessary to equip the air rifle with a riflescope. For this purpose, there is an 11mm dovetail on the receiver.
The main advantage is the Rekord sporting trigger, which can be adjusted really excellently.
Our experience: For us, definitely one of the best air rifles in the spring-piston category. The accuracy at a distance of 50 metres is astounding.
