Takumitak, a company with Chinese roots now residing in Ontario, California, has been specializing in making knives with chunky Full-Tang blades of all shapes and sizes for a number of years. Their aim is to offer the widest range of knives to meet the requirements of any demanding user.
This knife features a sturdy, 4.86mm thick blade made from high carbon D2 tool steel, additionally coated with a titanium nitride layer protecting it from dirt, corrosion, and scratches. The package further includes a reliable kydex sheath with belt clip, also compatible with MOLLE system.
FULL-TANG DESIGN
The Full-tang designation means that the blade and the internal part of the handle are made of a single piece, which greatly increases the overall durability of the knife and makes it very unlikely to snap in half.
D2 HIGH CARBON STEEL blade
This tool steel named D2 is designed for the harshest treatment. Thanks to its very high level of carbon and other additives, it can reach a hardness of HRC 61-62, which is one of the highest possible values. Such knife retains its sharpness for a very long time. In addition, it has a fair percentage of chromium, therefore it will withstand some rust as well.
Content: 84.2% iron, 1.5% carbon, 12% chromium, 0.35% manganese, 0.8% molybdenum, 0.9% vanadium and 0.25% silicone
SCALES MADE OF G10 COMPOSITE
G10, also called garolite, is a laminate made by pressing glass fibers immersed in epoxy resin, which is highly resistant to mechanical damage and does not warp when exposed to moisture or during temperature changes. This material also boasts excellent traction properties, so the knife won't slip even in a sweaty palm.
