Takumitak, a company with Chinese roots now residing in Ontario, California, has been specializing in making knives with chunky Full-Tang blades of all shapes and sizes for a number of years. Their aim is to offer the widest range of knives to meet the requirements of any demanding user.
This knife features a durable, 3.92mm thick blade made of blackened 3cr13 stainless steel. Both supplied grips (black and sand) are made of fiberglass reinforced nylon. The same material is used for the solid sheath with belt clip, also compatible with MOLLE system.
The Full-tang designation means that the blade and the internal part of the handle are made of a single piece, which greatly increases the overall durability of the knife and makes it very unlikely to snap in half.
Stainless steel called 3cr13 is the ultimate choice for everyday carry knives. With a lower hardness of HRC 54-56, it is easier to sharpen and thanks to its high chromium content, you don't have to worry about corrosion. In short, it is a great compromise between durability, easy maintenance and purchasing price.
Content: 84.03% iron, 0.3% carbon, 13% chromium, 1% manganese, 0.6% nickel, 0.04% phosphorus, 0.03% sulfur and 1% silicone
Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon (FRN) is characterized by excellent mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance and is very hard while retaining relatively low brittleness.
