Although the brand’s roots reach back to Ukraine, all Taipan air rifles are assembled and finished in the Czech Republic. The workmanship is top-class, thanks to precise machining of parts on modern CNC machines. The stocks are made of wood. The other parts use aircraft-grade aluminium and top-quality steel.
The Long version is equipped with a 550 mm long barrel, making it an excellent choice for precision shooting at longer distances. Taipan air rifles use barrels from renowned brands such as Česká Zbrojovka and Lothar Walther. A 1/2 UNF thread is machined at the muzzle, fitted with an effective sound moderator, making the shot surprisingly quiet.
The air cylinder runs almost the entire length of the rifle and is finished with a clear Wika pressure gauge. The cylinder capacity is 355 cm3 of air. To mount a riflescope you will use a 22 mm Weaver rail, which is positioned in the centre of the rifle and canted by 20 MOA, making it ideal for long‑range shooting.
Loading is via a side lever mechanism, which is very precise and easy to operate. Here, Taipan has received several important innovations. The first is that it is not possible to double-load a pellet, so accidental barrel blockage cannot occur. The second concerns the barrel and the air port area, which has been designed to prevent pellet deformation. The side lever can also be swapped to the other side, which is especially appreciated by left-handed shooters.
If you look at the workmanship of individual parts, for example the trigger mechanism, you will see the high standard of their execution, surpassing much more expensive air rifles. The fully adjustable trigger mechanism is among the very best currently available on an air rifle. In front of the trigger there is a manual safety.
The weight of the Long model is 3550 g. The package includes two magazines, each with a capacity of 10 shots, a single-shot tray adapter, and a quickfill adapter.
