The pistol is designed to shoot projectiles in caliber .50. You can use rubber, pepper and marking balls. Thanks to this, the TPX 50 Gen2 is a universal choice for training, recreational shooting and defensive use.
The drive is provided by a 12g CO₂ cartridge, which is inserted into the grip. As with most RAM weapons, you will also find here the proven Quick-Piercing system. The cartridge can remain inserted in the pistol unpierced and it is activated only by a strike on the bottom of the grip. This way the seals are not unnecessarily under pressure and you can keep the pistol ready for quick use.
A big advantage compared to other RAM pistols is the removable metal magazine with a capacity of 8 shots. To remove the magazine there is a metal magazine release on the left side of the grip (designed for right-handers). As with other RAM pistols, this model is not compatible with non-round projectiles – there is a risk of jamming in the magazine and a weapon stoppage.
NOTE: For proper magazine function we recommend applying silicone oil to the inner walls of the magazine well, or directly to the rubber projectiles. When using dry ammunition in an unlubricated magazine, there is a risk of weapon jamming.
Another significant advantage is the OR – Optics Ready design. The slide of the pistol is prepared for mounting a red dot sight with a C-More footprint, which makes aiming easier and improves accuracy at shorter distances. If you do not use a red dot, you still have classic fixed sights with fibre-optic inserts at your disposal.
NOTE: The slide (and therefore the threads for mounting the red dot) is made of polymer, so when installing the optic you need to tighten the screws carefully and not use excessive force to avoid damaging the threads.
The outer body is made of durable polymer, thanks to which the pistol maintains a low weight of only 680 grams. The contoured grip with aggressive texturing fits well in the hand and provides a secure hold even during fast handling. For optional installation of a laser or a flashlight, there is a short Picatinny rail with 3 slots located under the barrel.
The trigger mechanism operates in Double Action Only mode. The pistol is therefore ready to fire immediately after inserting the magazine and activating the CO₂ cartridge, with no need to cock a hammer or rack the slide (the slide is fixed). The safety is located directly in the trigger blade, which in no way affects the speed of drawing the weapon in a critical situation.
Since the weapon is powered by CO2 cartridges, the rubber seals may, over time, become brittle and crack due to the freezing carbon dioxide. You can prevent this by occasional application of silicone oil 1) in spray form, where you simply spray the internal mechanism, 2) by applying a few drops of silicone oil onto the neck of the inserted cartridge, 3) by using an oil cartridge (the easiest option). At the same time, we do not recommend leaving an activated cartridge in the weapon longer than necessary. If you know that you will not be shooting for some time, release the pressure by loosening the valve.
