The Kandar N481 knife has everything a proper rescue knife should have: a seatbelt cutter, a glass-breaking tip, a clip and assisted opening that allows one-handed operation.
The attractive look is provided by polymer scales with graphics of stylized skulls in a black and red colour scheme. A row of circular holes runs through the middle of each scale, going through the frame into the interior of the knife. This design element has both an aesthetic and a practical function, as it additionally reduces the weight of the knife. The same design feature – circular holes – also decorates the blade of the knife. The scales are attached to the frame with four Torx screws.
The blade made of 440 stainless steel is easy to sharpen thanks to the hardening process and at the same time retains its edge for a long time. In the open position, the blade is locked by a Liner Lock. The lock itself is easily accessible with the thumb of your strong hand. The grey blade finish prevents reflections, protects against corrosion and makes cleaning and maintenance easier.
Assisted opening allows the knife to be opened one-handed using the so-called flipper. For classic opening, the blade is equipped with a standard thumb stud.
