The Kandar N481 has everything that every proper rescue knife should have, i.e. a belt cutter, a tip for breaking glass, a clip and assisted opening allowing one-handed unfolding.
Attractive look is provided by polymer scales with stylized skulls graphics in black and red color scheme. A series of circular holes run through the centre of each scale, extending from the base to the blade. This design element serves as an aesthetic as well as a practical function, as it additionally reduces the weight of the knife. The same design element - circular holes - also adorns the blade of the knife. The scales are connected to the base with four torx screws.
The blade made of 440 stainless steel is easy to sharpen thanks to hardening, while maintaining its sharpness for a long time. In the open position, the blade is locked with the Liner Lock. The lock itself is easily accessible with the thumb. The blade's grey finish prevents glares and also protects against corrosion and makes it easy to clean and maintain.
The assisted opening allows the knife to be unfolded with one hand, using the so-called flipper. For conventional opening, the blade is equipped with a pin.
