The Evanix company ranks among the top manufacturers of PCP guns on the market. Rainstorm SL uses a classic side lever cocking system. Thanks to this solution, reloading is very fast. At first glance you will notice the beautifully crafted wooden stock made from Turkish sepetea wood. The shape of the cheekpiece is universal, so it can be used by both left- and right-handed shooters.
You will certainly appreciate the vertically adjustable rubber butt pad. This rifle model is equipped with the new type of magazines, which have been redesigned, making reloading easier and preventing jams. The magazines are always pre‑indexed when inserting the pellets, so no mechanism for rotating the magazines is needed. You can find a similar system on Daystate rifles.
Rainstorm SL is not equipped with open sights, therefore we recommend purchasing a quality riflescope. An 11mm mounting rail is provided for attaching the scope. The rifle is equipped with a manometer that allows you to monitor the usable pressure in the air cylinder. This enables you to estimate the number of remaining shots. We recommend filling to a maximum pressure of 230 bar. The volume of the air cylinder is 260 ccm.
You will not have to reload constantly during shooting, as the air rifle is equipped with a 10‑shot magazine for pellets. Of course, the manufacturer has also included a safety to prevent accidental discharge, so your safety is taken care of. Another advantage is that you can adjust both the trigger pull weight and the trigger position.
There are few things you can truly rely on, and one of them is this rifle. The guns are manufactured for high power levels of up to around 60 Joules. For our market the power is limited to 16 J. In 5.5 mm calibre it is intended mainly for hunting or destructive shooting. For target shooting we recommend the 4.5 mm calibre. For even greater comfort you can purchase a sound moderator for the rifle. The report will then be minimal.
Practical experience: The Rainstorm and Blizzard models are absolute bestsellers for the EVANIX brand. Thanks to the fact that they have been in production for 10 years already, all the so‑called teething troubles have been ironed out. For us, the clear positives are the simple design and excellent handling. The shooting accuracy is comparable to more expensive models. Another advantage is that they are structurally designed for much higher power levels. The only drawback is the missing regulator for even more precise shooting; however, this can be purchased separately.
