The Evanix company ranks among the top manufacturers of PCP rifles on the market. Blizzard SL is very similar to the Rainstorm SL model. The only differences are the overall length, barrel length, and air cylinder capacity. This model is loaded via a classic side lever. Thanks to this solution, loading is very fast. At first glance, you will be impressed by the beautifully crafted wooden stock made from Turkish sepetia wood. The cheekpiece shape is universal, so it can be used by both left- and right-handed shooters.
You will certainly appreciate the vertically adjustable rubber buttpad. This rifle model is equipped with the new type of magazines, which have been upgraded so reloading is easier and jamming does not occur. The magazines are always pre‑rotated when inserting pellets, so there is no need for a mechanism to rotate the magazines. You can find a similar system on Daystate rifles.
Blizzard SL is not equipped with open sights, therefore we recommend purchasing a quality riflescope. For mounting the riflescope there is an 11 mm dovetail rail. The rifle is fitted with a manometer that allows you to monitor the usable pressure in the air cylinder. This enables you to estimate the number of remaining shots. We recommend filling up to a maximum pressure of 230 bar. The volume of the air cylinder is 280 ccm.
During shooting you will not have to reload over and over again; the air rifle in 6.35 mm calibre is equipped with a 9‑shot magazine. Of course, the manufacturer has also included a safety to prevent accidental discharge, so your safety is taken care of. Another advantage is that you can adjust both the trigger pull and trigger position.
There are few things you can really rely on, and one of them is this rifle. The rifles are manufactured for high power levels up to around 60 Joules. For our market the power is limited to 16 J. The 6.35 mm and 5.5 mm calibres are mainly intended for hunting or destructive shooting. For target shooting we recommend the 4.5 mm calibre.
Practical experience: The Rainstorm and Blizzard models are absolute bestsellers from EVANIX. Thanks to the fact that they have been produced for 10 years already, all the so‑called bugs have been ironed out. For us, the clear positives are the simple design and excellent handling. Accuracy is comparable to more expensive models. Another advantage is that they are structurally designed for much higher power levels. The only drawback is the missing pressure regulator for even more precise shooting – however, this can be purchased separately. If you do not mind the higher weight and length of the rifle, the clear advantage of this model is the larger shot capacity. Accuracy is comparable to the Rainstorm models.
