Vixen is a modern PCP air rifle from the Czech manufacturer Airgun Technology. It is almost unbelievably lightweight and well-balanced, even in the extended Long version with a 400mm barrel from Česká Zbrojovka.
At first glance it stands out with a really large sound moderator with a diameter of 50 mm. The moderator performs its function perfectly, the sound of the shot definitely won’t scare the neighbours. Although it looks massive, fortunately its weight does not have a negative effect on the balance of the rifle.
The manufacturer has used the proven lightweight forend from Uragan. It is made of high-quality ABS plastic and allows for easy attachment of tactical accessories thanks to the M-LOK interface. There is also a classic Weaver rail on the underside of the forend.
The second distinctive feature is the composite air cylinder, which is finished with a comfortable rubber buttpad and at the same time serves as the stock. This solution has its supporters and opponents, but shouldering is surprisingly comfortable. It fits well even for taller shooters. The total volume of the pressure vessel is 250 cm3 and the maximum filling pressure is 300 bar. The current pressure can be easily read on a tiny yet clear pressure gauge. Directly below it is the port for the filling pin.
The plastic pistol grip is in AR-15 standard, which is currently trendy. If it does not suit you, it can be easily replaced with another one. Within easy reach of your index finger there is a minimalist manual safety that blocks the trigger.
Reloading is comfortable and the side lever can be switched to either side, so shooting is no problem for both right- and left-handed shooters. The magazine is the same as on the Uragan and in .22 (5.5 mm) calibre it holds 12 pellets.
For mounting optics there is a 22mm rail on the top of the rifle, which also serves as a kind of carry handle.
