Vixen is a modern PCP air rifle from the Czech manufacturer Airgun Technology. It is almost unbelievably lightweight, compact and well-balanced. It boasts a precise 250mm barrel from Česká Zbrojovka.
At first glance it immediately catches the eye with a really huge sound moderator with a diameter of 50 mm. The moderator fulfils its function perfectly; the shot noise definitely will not scare your neighbours. Although it looks massive, fortunately its weight does not negatively affect the balance of the rifle.
The manufacturer used the proven lightweight forearm from Uragan. It is made of quality ABS plastic and allows easy mounting of tactical accessories thanks to the M-LOK interface. On the underside of the forearm there is also a standard Weaver rail.
The second striking feature is the composite air cylinder, which is finished with a comfortable rubber butt pad and at the same time serves as the stock. This solution has its supporters as well as its critics, but shouldering is surprisingly comfortable. It fits well even for taller shooters. The volume of the pressure vessel is a total of 250 cm3 and the maximum filling pressure is 300 bar. The current pressure can be easily read on the tiny yet clear manometer. Directly below it there is an opening for the filling probe.
The plastic pistol grip is in AR-15 standard, which is currently trendy. If it does not suit you, it can be easily replaced with another one. Right within reach of the index finger there is a minimalist manual safety that blocks the trigger.
Reloading is comfortable and the cocking lever can be freely swapped to either side, so shooting is no problem for right-handed or left-handed shooters. The magazine is identical to the Uragan one; in 5.5 mm calibre it holds 12 pellets.
For mounting an optic there is a 22mm rail on the top of the rifle, which also acts as a kind of carry handle.
