The PCP air rifle FX DRS MkII Classic represents the second generation of the revolutionary DRS series from Swedish manufacturer FX Airguns. It retains the unique design with an air cylinder surrounding the barrel, giving it a slim profile that resembles a traditional centrefire rifle rather than a conventional PCP air rifle. However, the new MkII generation introduces a range of major technical improvements focused on greater air system efficiency, increased power potential and easier maintenance.

Design and barrel
The entire series is built around the unusual APB (Air Pressure Barrel) system, in which the barrel passes directly through the pressurised air cylinder. This solution eliminates the need for a conventional cylinder beneath the barrel, allowing the entire air rifle to maintain an exceptionally slim profile.
The second generation features a redesigned version of this system, which makes maintenance and barrel liner replacement significantly easier. While the original model required the compressed air to be released before replacement, the MkII allows the liner to be replaced without depressurising the cylinder.
The barrel uses the proven Superior Smooth Twist X (STX) system with an interchangeable liner, allowing its configuration to be adapted to different types of ammunition. The muzzle features a 1/2 UNF thread for fitting a sound moderator. The shroud has an outer diameter of 34 millimetres.

Air system
One of the most significant innovations in the second generation is the new Dynamic Block with optimised airflow, which, together with the redesigned Power Plenum with a capacity of 25 cc enables more efficient use of compressed air and expands the power adjustment options, particularly when using heavier projectiles.
The plenum is positioned beneath the receiver and resembles the magazine of a conventional firearm. The actual removable magazine, however, is located above it, within the loading mechanism.
To maintain the air rifle's sleek appearance, the adjustment controls for the adjustable AMP MkII regulator and hammer spring have been moved inside the stock, which must be removed to access them. However, the air rifle is already factory-tuned to offer the best balance of power, accuracy and air consumption with most commonly available ammunition straight out of the box.

The maximum fill pressure is 230 bar, and the air is replenished using a MkIII filling probe with a quick connector. The current cylinder pressure can be monitored on the integrated pressure gauge, while a separate gauge can be added to check the regulator pressure.
NOTE: With this air rifle, it is important to monitor the remaining pressure in the cylinder. We recommend maintaining a pressure of approximately 150 bar or higher. If the pressure drops below the regulator setting, the air rifle may discharge all its air.
Optics and controls
The scope mounting system has also received a significant upgrade. While the original DRS Classic came with only an 11mm dovetail rail as standard, the new MkII generation is factory-equipped with a removable Picatinny rail with a 30 MOA incline. This incline provides more scope elevation adjustment for shooting at longer distances. Once the Picatinny rail is removed, the original 11mm rail remains available.
Exceptionally smooth and fast cycling is ensured by the side lever. A standard feature is the fully adjustable two-stage trigger, allowing its operation to be tailored to individual preferences. The trigger blade itself can also be adjusted vertically and rotated to suit the shooter. The right-hand side of the receiver also features a manual safety lever.

Walnut stock
The Walnut version is fitted with an elegant genuine walnut stock from renowned Italian manufacturer Minelli, enhancing the air rifle's classic appearance. Each piece features a unique natural wood grain, giving it a distinctive character.
The stock offers an ergonomically shaped grip and fore-end with textured surfaces, ensuring a secure hold when shooting. Comfort is further enhanced by a fixed Monte Carlo cheekpiece shaped for right-handed shooters and a fixed rubber butt pad.
The underside of the fore-end and the rear of the stock feature two sling swivel studs for attaching a shoulder sling. The front stud can also be used to mount a compatible bipod.
