As is clear from the name, it has been designed for a single purpose – to win outright in the Field Target shooting discipline.
And it really offers a lot. The free-floating barrel is tuned down to the smallest details and with the tightest tolerances that current technology allows. In addition, it is fitted with an adjustable “Air Stripper” muzzle brake to achieve perfect accuracy.
Under the barrel sits a titanium air cylinder, whose status is indicated by a pressure gauge recessed into the left side of the stock. The cylinder can be filled using the supplied Air Arms filling probe with an external 1/8BSP thread. A special feature of the FT version is the integrated flip-out spirit level on the underside of the cylinder. At its end there is also a hole for hanging any object to indicate wind direction.
The polished laminated stock has been designed in every respect to adapt to any shooter. This is mainly helped by the fully adjustable buttpad with several movable segments and the option to install the “Butt hook” extension, as well as the height- and length-adjustable cheekpiece. The RH version is configured for right-handed shooters.
Another useful feature is the folding palm rest, which can be unlocked and locked by pressing a single button. Its construction is very robust and on a flat surface it will easily hold the entire air rifle in a stable position. The palm rest and the end of the fore-end both feature a UIT rail. To allow larger shooters to use the rifle comfortably, the lower part of the grip can be extended with three plates (2 metal, 1 laminated).
Of course, a competition special must include a match trigger, on which you can adjust both stages as well as the overall position of the trigger. Cocking is handled by a classic sidelever with a smooth action, fixed on the right side.
As with other Air Arms air rifles, there is an 11mm dovetail rail for mounting a riflescope. The user also has the option to remove the raised rail, under which another 11mm dovetail is hidden.
