Work Sharp E5-I Electric Kitchen Grinder

Work Sharp E5-I is an electric sharpener that will sharpen all your kitchen knives. You don't need any knife sharpening experience to sharpen. On the contrary. The sharpener is designed for the layman. The E2-I can handle not only smooth knives but also serrated blades. You can sharpen cleavers, filleting knives and even scissors with it.

It has 2 sharpening zones. One for each edge of the blade. Thanks to the guide system, you don't need to have any experience in knife sharpening. You just need to switch on the sharpener and run the left and right edge of the blade alternately through the sharpener. Just clamp the knife on the guide rest. This will allow you to sharpen it at the correct angle.

The blade has 3 modes. Shape, Sharpen and Refine. Shape is for sharpening already very dull knives. So you could say that it gives the knife a "shape". Sharpen, on the other hand, returns the knife to its coarse edge. Refine then sharpens the knife to the highest possible quality. Switching on, off and between programs is done with a single button. The sharpener also includes a self-cleaning mechanism that sucks in steel dust.

In addition to the grinder, the manufacturer also supplies a ceramic grinding bar for manual finishing of the knife edge. This has two different grits. Coarse for quick sharpening and smooth for final finishing. On the handle of the bar you will find the Microforge grinding port, which provides long-lasting protection for the knife blade. The blade can then slice longer without any apparent loss of sharpness.
