Kultovní PP a PPK
Carl Walther studied gunsmithing, married the daughter of a revolver manufacturer and, from 1886, ran a shop with sporting and service firearms. Carl’s eldest son and designer Fritz Walther designed the legendary Walther PP in 1929. The Polizei-Pistole had the most popular calibre of 7.65 mm and is still a synonym for perfection today.
Subsequently, a smaller version was created for concealed carry in civilian use. The Walther PPK, Polizei-Pistole Kriminalmodell, was owned by James Bond himself. The company also equipped German shooters for the Los Angeles Olympics, 1932. The Walther Olympia model was created, whose successors rank among the very best.
Today the brand manufactures modern sporting and service pistols. It belongs to the Umarex group, which in turn offers their airsoft and blank-firing variants. The latest innovation introduced by Walther is the LGV series of guns with its own recoil reduction system. This is not just a standard rubber butt pad, but springs, pistons and dampers integrated into the air rifle.
