Thermal riflescope Vector Optics Owlset HEIM ES X-Nano XPD Mini Wi-Fi

The thermal riflescope Vector Optics Owlset HEIM ES X-Nano XPD Mini Wi-Fi is a compact thermal sight designed for short and medium ranges. It combines a thermal imaging module, aiming optics, and intuitive controls in a rugged body suitable for tactical, duty, and sport use. This version additionally includes a Wi-Fi module that enables connection and control of the device via a mobile phone.

Thermal imaging system

The scope uses a 19 mm lens with a detection range of up to 600 metres and a 12 μm thermal sensor with a resolution of 256x192 px and a 50 Hz refresh rate, which evaluates temperature differences of objects and displays them on a 1.4" touch screen.

The display provides a clear image with 6 selectable colour palettes (cold color, iron red, rainbow, hot iron, black hot, white hot). The user can also choose between 10 types of reticles in a total of 5 colours.

The scope features 0.5x optical magnification to ensure a wide field of view, which can then be 2x digitally zoomed to a natural 1x image. Thanks to the fast start-up, the device is ready for use shortly after switching on.

Of course, there are functions such as Hotspot, automatic shut-off when idle, the option of video and photo recording, automatic and manual shutter calibration, and much more.

Construction and durability

The body of the thermal scope is made of durable aluminium alloy, achieves IP66 protection rating, and withstands recoil from common calibres (equivalent to 1000G). It can also operate in extreme temperatures from -20°C to +60°C.

Mounting system

The ES X-Nano series is adapted for mounting on pistols with an ACRO footprint (the manufacturer Vector Optics calls it VOD), or the scope can be installed on a standard Picatinny / Weaver rail using the supplied adapter.

Power supply and runtime

The thermal scope is powered by a 16280 battery (3 pcs included), which can be charged directly in the device via a USB-C port or in the supplied 2-slot charger. The device can operate for up to 3.5 hours, which can be further extended by activating the auto power-off function when idle (5, 10, 20, and 30 minutes).

Wi-Fi connectivity

This XPD (VEOT-RSS08) model additionally features integrated Wi-Fi, which compared to the STD (VEOT-RS08) model offers more convenient device control via smartphone, including live view and the option of video recording via a connected mobile device. The Owlset app is compatible with both Android and iOS systems.
