PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Nordik Roe call is designed for calling roe bucks. It is pre-tuned for four main calls used when calling roe deer, including the contact call of a doe and fawn, the call of an excited doe in heat and the call of a receptive doe.
Call and volume adjustment
The sound is changed by moving the rubber ring between the two outermost notches on the body of the call. The double reed provides better volume control. The volume can be further adjusted by covering the opening on the underside of the call with your thumb – the more the opening is covered, the quieter the resulting sound.
Using individual calls
- Contact call of a doe and fawn: Place the rubber ring in the first, outermost notch from the body of the call and inhale briefly into the call. For a higher fawn call, bite the call with your teeth over the rubber ring.
- Call of an excited doe in heat: Set the rubber ring in the second notch. Place your teeth in the released first notch and bite the membrane towards the body of the call. Place your lips on the rubber ring in the second notch and blow. Biting the membrane further away from the rubber ring produces a higher call of a young doe, while biting closer to the ring produces the call of an older doe.
- Call of a receptive doe: Proceed in the same way as when imitating an excited doe in heat, but release the pressure of your teeth and lips immediately after blowing. To alternate calls, combine shorter calls of an excited doe in heat with longer calls of a receptive doe.
Recommended calling procedure
At one stand, the contact call of a doe and fawn, the call of an excited doe in heat and the call of a receptive doe can be alternated for several minutes. Then repeat the calling approximately every 20 to 30 minutes.
