Helle

When Norway was gripped by the financial crisis in the 1930s with no end in sight, the unemployed brothers Steinar and Sigmund Helle decided they no longer wanted to just watch their lives get worse and worse. They started producing agricultural tools under the brand A/S Helle Fabrikker. Later, they switched to high-quality hunting and fishing knives. 

Since its foundation, the company has believed that no machine can replace honest craftsmanship. They pride themselves on still making the knives by hand, using traditional methods and high-quality local materials. So the rule is: every Helle knife is an original.

The blade is made from triple-layer laminated stainless steel, which is hardened to a hardness of 58 HRC. It is virtually indestructible: the middle layer has high hardness and sharpness, the outer layers are resistant to damage. That is why the knives can withstand even tougher use.
