The Hawke AIRMAX 30 WA SF features a monolithic nitrogen filled aluminium tube. The gas inside the system ensures that the lens and eyepiece glass does not fog up. The scope is both waterproof and shockproof. The eyepiece has Fast Focus and the lenses are equipped with 16 layers of MC protection. The tube is 1.2" or 30 mm in diameter.
Inside the AIRMAX models is an glass-etched AMX IR reticle. The crosshair is illuminated with a red light that has six brightness settings with zero intermediate levels. Horizontal and vertical correction is on the scale of Milliradians - one click equals 1/10 MRAD. The turrets are capped so that the settings will not change without the user's knowledge.
Parallax correction is located on the left side of the riflescope and is handled through an adjustable turret; its range is 10 yds (9.14 m) to infinity. In order to maintain the set values, the system needs to be relatively rigid. To that end, the manufacturer adds a large parallax wheel that you attach to the turret for easy handling. You'll also find the illumination control in the same place.
6-24x variable magnification can be adjusted by a rubberized ring with lugs behind the eyepiece. The scope is in the second focal plane (SFP).
A large number of small accessories are included. The eyepiece and objective lens are covered by hinged metal caps that can be removed with special half-circle wrenches. Among the other accessories, for example, you will find an Allen key or a cloth for cleaning the glass or a spare CR2032 battery for illuminating the reticle.
