Hawke AIRMAX 30 Compact 6-24X50 SF has a monolithic nitrogen-filled aluminium construction. The tube has a diameter of 1.2", i.e. 30 mm.
The eyepiece has fast focusing (Fast Focus) and the lenses are equipped with a 16-layer MC coating. The gas inside the system ensures that the lenses of the objective and eyepiece do not fog up. The riflescope is also waterproof and shockproof. Inside the AIRMAX models there is an etched reticle AMX IR. It is illuminated by red light with six adjustable intensity levels with off positions between them.
Horizontal and vertical adjustment is in milliradians – one click equals 1/10 MRAD. The adjustment turrets are capped, so the set values will not change without the user’s knowledge. Parallax adjustment is located on the left side of the riflescope and is controlled via a side turret; its range is from 9 m to infinity. To maintain the set values the system needs to be relatively stiff. For this reason the manufacturer adds a large side wheel for parallax, which you fit onto the turret to make adjustment easier. The illumination control is located in the same place.
The variable magnification range of 6–24x is particularly suitable for lower-powered rifles – for example rimfire rifles or air rifles. The manufacturer’s motto for the Airmax models is Specialist scopes designed by airgunners for airgunners! The riflescope is in the second focal plane.
