Grand Power

         A thorny road to the top

The Slovak company Grand Power is now a prosperous business with more than one hundred employees and modern facilities in Ľupča near Banská Bystrica. It exports its pistols and submachine guns to 50 countries worldwide. Almost 98% of production goes to export, only the remaining 2% is sold in Slovakia. However, the road to the top was thorny, as the company’s founder Jaroslav Kuranica had to deal with many difficulties. When he applied for a loan at the bank, they just laughed at him, saying: “If you have a patent and an idea, that’s not enough, you are of no interest to us.” In the end, private investors helped and production of the Grand Power K100 model began to take off in 2002. The K stands for the first letter of the surname and 100 for the designer Jaroslav Kuranica’s weight at that time.

Unique patented design

What makes Grand Power pistols unique is the barrel-rotating slide locking system. Thanks to this, they have excellent shooting characteristics and, simply put, “they don’t kick that much”. In addition to live firearms, Grand Power also offers blank-firing and Flobert pistols, which have no real competition in terms of quality. They are made from the same honest gunsmith-grade steel as live firearms.
