Thanks to these three “helpers” you’ll be able to get through a lot in the wild. In nature, fire is often a matter of life and death.
You can start a fire with the Gerber Fire Starter, which produces sparks with a temperature of several thousand degrees Celsius. It consists of a striker made of 3CR13 steel, a ferrocerium rod, and a 100dB whistle. All three parts of the fire starter are connected with a cord. You can even insert the striker and the rod into each other. You can then get completely soaked with the fire starter without worrying that you won’t be able to light a fire afterwards.
The Gerber Compact Clearpath machete has a solid rubberised grip, which you can secure with a cord in the handle. The blade is made of durable stainless steel and is 280 mm long. It features not only a typical plain edge for chopping, but also saw teeth on the opposite side.
With the machete you can cut through practically any smaller fallen tree. The overall length of the machete is 439 mm and it weighs only 512 g. It comes with a practical sheath, which you will appreciate especially on longer trips.
The Gerber Airlift Silver knife is a folding knife for everyday use. In the Overcome set it serves as a versatile knife that you can use both for food preparation and for cutting rope or sharpening a stick for roasting over a fire.
Its biggest advantage is the blade made of 5Cr13 steel in a stone wash finish with a plain edge. On both sides of the blade you’ll find a thumb stud, which makes the knife quicker and easier to open. It is suitable for left-handers as well as right-handers. The blade is set in a handle made of durable stainless steel with a practical pocket clip. The total length of the knife in the open position is 177 mm. Safety is ensured by a Frame Lock.
