The blade of the Silky Bigboy 360-7 hand saw is made of high carbon steel and its shape is precisely laser cut. The chromed surface protects the saw from corrosion and external influences. The main advantage of the Bigboy is the quality of the serrations. The sharp teeth are cut on 4 sides, only the edges of the teeth are induction hardened. The rest of the surface is soft and elastic.
The ability of the blade to conform makes the serrations very durable. In addition, the cutting surface is ground to an hourglass shape, this prevents the teeth from jamming when cutting. The profile of the teeth reduces resistance, so the material to be cut does not tear during cutting. Worn blades can be easily replaced.
