COBB

The history of the company dates back to 1950. In those years, there was a demand for an innovative solution for how the indigenous population of Africa could use alternative types of fuel for cooking – instead of wood and charcoal. Another requirement was to reduce the risk of fire, as individual dwellings and entire villages were made from highly flammable materials, and one burnt meal could mean the destruction of the whole settlement. The developers therefore came up with a simple clay stove with a steel mesh grid, which the locals could make themselves. Corn cobs were then used as the fuel. This already reduced the carbon footprint back then and this trend has remained in the company to this day. Through gradual development and refinement of simple principles, the product that you can buy today was created.

YEAR 2001

In December 2001, the COBB system was named by Time magazine as one of the best innovations of that year. The simple idea of environmentalists, already half a century old at that time, thus received unexpected recognition and the company experienced rapid growth.

Cobb grills have been continually evolving ever since and can be purchased with a large range of accessories. These add-ons turn the grill into, for example, an oven, a pan for exotic dishes, or a smoker. This gives you a portable outdoor kitchen. The main strengths of the company are its focus on high-quality materials, mobility and versatility.
