Bunaty Full HD photo trap with GSM

The Bunaty Full HD is a reasonably priced choice between large and small photo traps. The photo trap can illuminate itself at night with an invisible (IR) flash with a range of 25 meters under ideal conditions. The resulting photos are captured at a maximum resolution of up to 12 MPx and video in Full HD. The photo trap stores data (photo and video) on a SD card up to a maximum capacity of 32 GB. When the maximum capacity of the inserted SD card is reached, the photo trap will either stop capturing or overwrite old recordings.

As the name implies, this is a photo trap that can send data to a phone. The cost of sending photos is around 50 crowns per month for unlimited photos sent. The manufacturer supplies a free rechargeable SIM card with every Bunaty photo trap with GSM, for which you do not have to sign any contracts. Just top up the credit according to how you use the photo trap. If you choose the photo+video mode, the photo trap sends a photo to your phone and also records a video, which it then saves to an SD card.

The photo trap is powered by eight pencil batteries (8xAA). You can also power it from an external power supply. The input for the external connector is at the bottom of the photo trap. Many competitors illogically have the input connector on top and then very often moisture gets into the electronics. The photo trap can be switched to three different modes: off, on and test. The first two are clear - off and on. In test mode, you set everything to your requirements. Another advantage is the 3D masking and the minimum of shiny surfaces that make the photo trap easy to hide.

The biggest advantage of the photo trap is the relatively large colour LCD display and the six clearly labelled buttons which are housed inside a metal protective case. These two elements make it much easier to set up the various functions of the photo trap. Another significant plus is the clear Czech menu. The LCD display is also a great help when placing the photo trap itself. So you don't have to wait long for the first picture to find out that the thief only managed to take a picture of your legs. You'll see the final view right after switching to on mode. For 45 seconds, the display shows you exactly what the lens is capturing. During this time, you must place the photo trap.

You can set quite a few different functions in the menu. The photo trap takes one, two or a maximum of three pictures in short succession. You can also specify the length of the recorded video by a few seconds up to ten minutes. Keep in mind, however, that the longer the video is recorded, the more space it will take up on the SD card. Unlike some competing models, you can also record video with sound. If you go through the menu thoroughly, you will find that you can also adjust the motion sensor sensitivity, reach level.

Most noteworthy is the recording interval, i.e. the time between taking individual shots. So if you set five minutes and the sensor records motion for 14 minutes, it will take three pictures. However, the photo trap can also be used for time lapse. Alternatively, you can set it to be active only at night. You can even passcode the photo trap to prevent unauthorized access.
