Vector Optics Tauron 6-24x50 HD MIL FFP is a modern riflescope with high magnification designed primarily for the PRS shooting discipline. It offers a combination of 6–24× variable magnification and a 50 mm objective lens, which enables precise aiming even in poorer light conditions.
Optical system
The riflescope uses 6–24× variable magnification, covering shooting from medium to longer distances. The 50 mm objective lens brings in enough light so the image remains readable even in low-light conditions. The manufacturer has once again opted for the proven LaREE HD lens system with FMC (Fully-Multi Coated) anti-reflective coating, ensuring a consistently bright and sharp image.
Reticle
This model uses the VTA-3 MIL reticle designed for the PRS (Precision Rifle Series) discipline, placed in the first focal plane (FFP), so the measuring elements of the reticle remain in valid values throughout the entire magnification range. This is advantageous for shooters who work with range estimation or elevation and windage corrections directly using the reticle. The reticle is graduated in MILRAD (MRAD) units, which simplifies alignment between the reticle and the adjustment turrets when transferring corrections.
The center of the reticle is equipped with red illumination in 6 levels, powered by a single CR2032 battery (not included).
Adjustment and parallax
The riflescope features exposed turrets with 1/10 MIL adjustment clicks. The turrets are equipped with Turret Lock (you need to pull the turret up to turn it) and Zero Stop (easy return to a pre-set zero). Parallax is adjustable from 10 yards to infinity.
There is also diopter adjustment in the range of +-2D, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the reticle sharpness according to their eyesight without needing glasses or contact lenses.
Construction and durability
The riflescope body is made from a single piece of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and uses a larger 34 mm tube. The matte finish reduces unwanted reflections and is resistant to normal mechanical wear during field use.
The interior is nitrogen-filled, which prevents the optics from fogging during rapid changes in temperature and humidity. The riflescope has an IP67 rating, so it withstands rain and humid environments.
This model is capable of withstanding 1000 G (unit of gravitational acceleration), which is equivalent to the recoil of firearms in .300, .308 and .338 calibres.
