PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Umarex T4E Smith & Wesson M&P9c M2.0 is a RAM version of the popular service pistol from Smith & Wesson. It is designed to shoot rubber and pepper projectiles. This model is an ideal self-defense tool and can also be used for training and recreational shooting.

The gun consists of a polymer frame and metal slide, just like the original. The realistic markings, ergonomics, weight and Blowback makes it feel like the real thing. 

It is powered by a single 12g CO2 cartridge which must be placed inside the metal magazine. The mag can hold up to eight .43 caliber rubber or pepper projectiles.

The T4E guns (Training for Engagement) from German manufacturer Umarex are effective self-defense tools used by many armed forces for training. They are also perfect for target practice and plinking.

Overall, I am satisfied.

  • As a defensive RAM weapon, I find it suitable for carry. The 8 shot count is sufficient and the workmanship, weight and feel are good. At 5-7m it is accurate. Aiming is easy. For readiness purposes, I got a bump stock because you can't leave the gun permanently pressurized. It takes quite a bit of time to reload with a bomb and pellets, which is pointless for self defense.
  • The slide moves backwards when fired and stays back after the pellets are fired, like a real firearm.
  • This is a fairly large investment, especially with the purchase of a bump stock. The tightening of the firing pin and the actual bumping needs to be tested, I have not been able to bump it with the lack of tightening of the delineation spinner. Loosening the spinner during replacement is a bit of a nail-breaker.
  • The trigger is quite stiff and plastic. Some details of the gun are only engraved, but the view into the 8mm barrel is convincing.
  • Like any CO2 gun, the pressure in the cylinder drops with temperatures below 10 degrees, so having a gun in the cold in the winter is useless.

My parents ordered this RAM for their house deep in the woods where wild dogs, wolves, etc. often roam around their house and they didn't want to deal with a shotgun. After initial testing, I have to say that I was very surprised by the concept of RAM guns. I was expecting a more powerful pellet gun, but this is really strong. Given the short barrel and less than perfect round shot, I wasn't expecting any great accuracy either. But at 15 yards you can hit a 20×15 cm target without any problems. I think it'll be enough to fend off a questionable baraba too. For carry and possible defense, though, I definitely recommend buying a speedloader magazine, even though it's pretty expensive. I kind of miss the traditional safety on the pistol. After the magazine is fired, the slide stays locked in the rear position.
